Sunshine Guaranteed at Island Stop & Stay
All Brits are fascinated about the weather. We are no different here on the Isle of Wight. We even have a ‘micro climate’ in Ventnor!
With the town being south facing and protected in the lee of the high downland that surrounds it we are the sunniest place in the UK…or so local folklore has it. There’s no denying that the Island enjoys an average of over 37 hours of sunshine a week compared to the national average of 29.7 hours.
Ventnor Botanic Gardens claims to be the hottest gardens in the UK and who are we to argue. With the extra sunlight and milder temperatures it is not unusual to see exotic plant life growing around the town, and in the sheltered area to the West of Ventnor, in the Botanic Gardens themselves there is an impressive collection of sub-tropical plants and trees.
